Nomination Rules
How nominations, selection, and the free song work.
Nominate a team, town, festival, or organization for a free custom anthem from Mascot & Main
Last updated: October 6, 2026
1. What this is
The 50-State Anthem Project (the “Program”) is run by Mascot & Main LLC, a Georgia limited liability company based in Marietta, Georgia (“Mascot & Main,” “we,” or “us”). Anyone eligible can nominate a team, town, festival, or organization for a custom anthem. From time to time, we select nominees to receive The Single package at no charge. In return, the selected organization allows us to feature its song and its name publicly as a Mascot & Main sample. Our goal is to create an anthem for at least one nominee in every state.
This Program is not a sweepstakes or game of chance. There is no random drawing and no public voting. Mascot & Main selects nominees at its sole discretion using the criteria in Section 5. No purchase is required to nominate or to be selected.
2. Who can nominate
- Anyone 18 or older who lives in the United States.
- You may submit up to 5 nominations per month.
- You may nominate an organization you belong to, work for, or simply support.
- Nominators do not receive a prize. The free song goes only to the selected organization.
Students under 18 may not submit nominations, but are welcome to ask a parent, coach, teacher, or booster club member to nominate on their behalf.
3. Who can be nominated
Organizations based in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, including:
- High school athletic teams, athletic programs, bands, and spirit programs (public, private, charter, and parochial)
- Towns, cities, and counties
- Chambers of commerce, tourism boards, and downtown or Main Street associations
- Festivals and community events
- Historic sites, museums, and landmarks
- Community nonprofits and youth sports organizations
Not eligible: college and professional teams; political candidates, parties, and campaigns; and any organization or content that does not fit a family-friendly, community-focused program, as determined by Mascot & Main.
4. How to nominate
Submit the nomination form on mascotandmain.com with:
- The organization’s name, city, and state, and the type of organization
- For teams, the school and the sport or program
- Why they deserve an anthem: the story, traditions, or community spirit you want us to know about
- Optional: a public contact or website for the organization
- Your name and email address, so we can confirm your nomination
Please share only information that is already public or that you have permission to share. Do not include personal information about students or other minors.
Multiple nominations for the same organization are welcome and are combined into one entry.
5. How we select
We review nominations and select about two nominees per month. We consider:
- The story: tradition, history, community pride, or a moment worth celebrating
- Community connection: how much the song would mean to the people it is for
- Geography: helping us reach every state
- Variety: a range of organization types and musical styles
- Readiness: whether we can reach a person authorized to accept for the organization
The number of nominations an organization receives may be considered, but it is not a vote and does not guarantee selection. All selection decisions are final and made at Mascot & Main’s sole discretion. Nominations remain under consideration for 12 months from submission.
6. If a nominee is selected
- We contact the organization. We reach out directly to an adult who is authorized to act for the organization, such as an athletic director, principal, executive director, event organizer, or board officer. A nomination by itself does not grant us permission to create or feature anything.
- Acceptance. The authorized representative accepts the offer online within 14 days, confirms their authority, and agrees to the Feature Permission in Section 8.
- Intake. The organization completes the song intake form within 14 days of accepting.
- Production and delivery. We create and deliver the song under The Single package.
If the organization declines, does not respond, or does not meet a deadline, we may select a different nominee.
Some schools and public bodies have policies about accepting donated goods or services. The organization is responsible for confirming that it may accept The Single under those policies.
7. What the selected organization receives
- The Single package as described on mascotandmain.com on the date of acceptance (currently one original custom song as an MP3 and two revision rounds).
- The Mascot & Main Song License, the same license every customer receives.
The free package has no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and cannot be exchanged for a different package or combined with other offers. Add-ons (such as extra versions, WAV files, lyric videos, or rush delivery) are not part of the Program, but are available separately at regular price upon request.
8. Feature Permission
By accepting a selection, the organization grants Mascot & Main a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual permission to publicly use the following to promote Mascot & Main and the Program:
- The song, including full and shortened versions, and its lyrics
- The organization’s name, city, and state
- Mascot, team, event, and landmark names used in the song
- Any quote, testimonial, photo, or video the organization provides for this purpose
This may include the Mascot & Main website, the Program map, social media, email, press, presentations, and advertising for Mascot & Main. We may also name the organization as a Mascot & Main customer.
We will not use the organization’s logo or other artwork unless the organization provides it and approves its use in writing. We will not publish the name, image, or likeness of any student or other minor unless the organization provides it and confirms it has the necessary permissions.
After 12 months, an organization may ask in writing that we remove its feature from the Mascot & Main website, and we will make reasonable efforts to do so. Material already shared on social media or by third parties cannot always be recalled.
9. Nominations we do not select
We keep nominations private. We do not publish the names of nominated organizations unless they have been selected and have accepted.
We may contact nominated organizations that were not selected to let them know they were nominated and to tell them about Mascot & Main’s services. We will share the nominator’s name with the organization only if the nominator agreed to that on the nomination form. An organization may ask us at any time to stop contacting it.
10. Release schedule
We deliver each song to its organization as soon as it is final. Public features are released on our schedule, generally about two per month. Mascot & Main decides the release date and order.
11. Our discretion
We may decline any nomination, including when information is inaccurate or incomplete, when we cannot reach an authorized representative, or when the requested content does not fit the Program. Song content remains subject to the organization’s approval through its revision rounds.
12. Changes to the Program
We may change, pause, or end the Program at any time by updating these rules. Offers already accepted will be completed.
13. Other terms
- The Mascot & Main Terms and Conditions and Song License apply to every song created through the Program. If these rules conflict with them on a Program matter, these rules control.
- We use nominator and nominee information to run the Program and to contact nominated organizations, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia.
